It's a Brand New Year

And that being said, I have established a few new years resolutions. I know this is probably a bad idea and I think everyone says "Don't do it!" but I have not been one to listen to others so, I have set some for myself! And I have always been one to try to better myself (TRY being the keyword here people!!)

So here are a few things I want to try to accomplish this year and I decided to post it in a blog so that 1) I can go back and read it and go "Oops, need to get crackin' on that one and 2) so you all that read this can hold me to it!

1.) I need to eat better (i.e. less chocolate and mochas!) and exercise more (need to try to lose 30 lbs!)

2.) Need to keep my anger under control when dealing with Shelby (well and anyone for that reason, but my temper really boils over with her!)

3.) Watch less TV (AKA spend less time sitting on my butt on the couch playing on the laptop)

4.) Spend less time sitting on my butt on the couch playing on the laptop (AKA watch less TV)

5.) Scrapbook more (instead of just collecting supplies!)

6.) Get back in to some type of church/bible study program

7.) Make a point of getting together with friends more often

8.) Make new friends (but keep the old!)

9.) Set aside any spare money made from scrapbooking for Chad's shop (okay, that is just me being silly! Want to see if Chad ever reads my blog!!)

10.) Curb the coffee habit (sad when we pay towards Starbucks in a month the same amount we pay towards fuel for the vehicles!)

So far I have started off well with the exercise/food issue. I have exercised a few times since January 1st and have been trying to watch what I eat - grabbing fruit instead of chocolate. And I was quite proud of myself one day when I just remained calm when Shelby was off throwing a tantrum! Yay me! Now let's just hope I can keep it up for the whole year!

Anyway, off to watch TV...I mean go scrapbook. Yeah, that is it!!

Truth be known, I am getting old

No matter how hard I tell myself that I am eternally 29, the rest of me just doesn't seem to listen!! My body aches, I prefer sitting at home on the couch in the evenings to going out with friends and whoopin' it up. Oh I don't mind getting together with friends but I really hope it only involves nothing more than sitting on THEIR couch!!

With the year end fastly approaching us I start to think of our New Years Eve plans. We had talked about getting together with friends but then we all agreed that just sitting at our respective homes works fine for all of us! Part of me is going "Can I even stay up until midnight?" Maybe I will just celebrate New Years in Australia or something like that. Aren't they 12 hrs ahead of us? So I can celebrate at noon and go to bed early that night! I am such a party animal!

Anyway, if I do not post another post before then, I wish everyone a safe & happy New Years!

Merry Almost Christmas!

I am just sitting here working (not at work mind you, sitting on my couch in my jammies) and since it is so quiet with everyone taking these days off that I thought I would update my blog!

Why is it that it seems to take SO long for December to get here, but once it does the days between December 1 and December 25 just seem to fly by??? Granted the last week for me as seemed to last twice as long (probably because I am SO ready for time off of work).

There were a few hairy minutes where I feared Shelby would figure out the whole Santa thing. But then I guess I should not have been wrapping the stocking stuffers right in front of her!! I don't think she saw but she is such a smart girl that I can see her making some comment about Santa using the same wrapping paper as us...blah, blah, blah. You know what...she probably has never believed in Santa but just goes along with for us!

We went to Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah a few weekends ago to see "Santa" and his reindeer. I was all excited about Santa and Shelby just goes "That is not the real Santa. The real Santa is at the North Pole" Well damn!!

With her attitude the past few days I have been very tempted to take back some of her gifts! I mean she is really pushing it!! I hate to think of what her teenage years will be like!

Anyway, I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday season!!

Merry Christmas!!
