When Is It Okay to Throw a Tantrum?

You are probably thinking this is a trick question don't you? You are thinking "It's never okay to throw a tantrum!" I mean we always tell our kids not to, roll our eyes at other people's kids that are throwing tantrums and just think "Man they are bad parents!" but honestly....a good throw-yourself-on-the-floor-thrash-you-arms-and-legs-around-scream-at-the-top-of-your-lungs tantrum isn't always a bad thing!

I mean just because we are adults doesn't mean we have to hold it all in right? Sometimes situations just call for a good scream, especially when your emotions are all over the spectrum - sad, then angry, frustrated, mad at the world, back to sad.

So, what, you may be asking has me wanting to throw a ginormous tantrum? What doesn't!?!?! Let's see there are work things (job transitions, people that don't seem to pull their weight), there are kid things (My kid is 10....need I go into more detail?), people/life things (people doing stupid things, being self centered) oh and top it all off my little furry black cat has disappeared. It is going on 5 days now. This isn't the first cat that has disappeared so I am worried. I fight with the powers that be and go "Why! Why-y-y-y!!" followed by "Life isn't fair! I have already had two cats disappear!" Then the rational side of me pushes through and goes "Well it could be worse. Think of all those people that very sick" but then the irrational side bursts back to the front and just wants to scream, cry, yell and hey, let's just throw in the hitting of a few things.

So, maybe some people may frown upon this. Therefore I suggest only throwing this tantrum amongst people you trust, who you know won't hold it against you. Or if you prefer to just keep it to yourself kick your family out of the home and kick and scream away! I'm okay with it!

The Day I Fell In Love with My Daughter Again

And no I didn't fall out of love with my daughter....necessarily. I was just reminded why I love her SO much!

So we just took a road trip to see Chad's grandparents in Montana. It is about a 10 hour road trip, confined in a car with three different, and very stubborn, strong willed personalities. You can imagine how this might end up. Surprisingly enough it went pretty well! Yes there were a few times I am pretty sure I told Chad to pull over and that we were leaving Shelby in the middle of Nowhere-ville (or to leave me in Nowhere-ville!) but for the most part, it was fun!

My daughter is HILARIOUS! She is full of silliness and boy did that come out! Maybe she was on the brink of going crazy but whatever the reason, she was busy bopping around and dancing in the backseat, and making jokes.

Our travels were filled with laughter. Though with the colds we caught, the laughter was followed by uncontrollable coughing.
