Let it Rain! Let it Rain! Let it Rain!

Batten down the hatches! Run for the cellar! Stay indoors! We are in the middle of the WORST STORM EVER!!!! A bit meladramatic you say? Maybe a little, but if you are watching the news they are making a really big deal of this. But then...when doesn't the news do that?

Yes it is snowing, yes the roads are bad, yes I know the schools are closed but must we hear about it ALL DAY LONG? And it isn't like there is anything NEW to report. I am sure I have seen the same little girl build that snowman about 5 times now.

I am torn though. On one hand I enjoy the snow - it really is beautiful. But I have been stuck in my house for 4 straight days now! I had a small window of freedom on Tuesday when Shelby went to school and Chad & I went into the office. But then school closed early and back home we went.

I guess I should be thankful (???) that I can work remotely. Though this was a curse today as our facility actually closed. What could my excuse be? My manager is in Puerto Rico and most of my team is there as well or in Minnesota. I had NO excuse! Not even the excuse that my power was out because....we had the generator going. Damn us for being proactive!!

I am thankful though that my family and I are all safe and warm at home. And I hope we have an early spring! This body needs to defrost!

One step away from being a dancer!

Okay, so maybe I am more than one step away from being a professional dancer but I am doing good at keeping up with my exercising! I am exercising each day by working out to Just Dance 3 on the Wii! Fun, fun!! No changes to the muffin top yet, and for some odd reason I seemed to have put on MORE weight since I started but I just keep telling myself I have to get over some type of hump and then the weight will just start sliding off. Right, right??? So as for my other "goals" here is some status: 1) I have designated Wednesdays as scrapbook days since those are days I work remotely and my day ends at 3:30. Plenty o'time before beddy by to do some scrappin'. So far I have done some type of scrapbooking - did one page this week and updated blog last week which brings me to... 2) Blogging more - I updated my scrapbook blog even though I really didn't have new art to show off. I am slackin' a bit on this blog but I am here now! 3) Less Facebook - I could do better on this one but I have gone on FB a bit less though now I am on Pinterest and that is sucking up my time. But since one of my goals wasn't to go on Pinterest less I am good! And I realized, after my computer was attacked by a vicious virus and I couldn't get on to FB for a few days, that I really didn't miss much. 4) More family time - hmm, well Chad & I did go out on a date last Saturday. That counts right? Well it's still early and we don't want to spend too much time together right? I mean having some distance is good right? Makes us appreciate each other more? So there ya go! I am quite proud of myself so far!

Welcome to 2012!

And with that being said...I have started the new year off doing a whole lot o' nothing :) We did get the Christmas decorations but away and my house feels somewhat clean again. Though I still have a box full o' crap that Shelby got for Christmas that still needs to find homes. But...I will do with that tomorrow!

So I don't really like new years resolutions because 1) we shouldn't just wait for a new year to set goals for ourselves and 2) I never keep mine. But this year I am going to try REALLY, REALLY hard.

Here are a few things I would like to improve on:
1) Some type of scrapbook project each week (okay, maybe every two weeks?)
2) Blogging more (both my scrapbook site which if I do #1 shouldn't be a problem!) and this one.
3) Lose weight and tone up my muffin top. My goal is to lose 30 lbs but I would be happy to lose 10 OR to just firm up the flabby belly
4) Less Facebook, though not sure how I will keep in touch with people :) Hmm, maybe email or...(gasp!!) phone?
5) More family time

There that is it. I think 5 is good! Do-able. And I think they will be pretty easy to keep...maybe...well...I do have 365 days left, and with it being leap year I have that one extra day!
