Oh, the agony!!!!!

Well not much to say. I am just vegging right now. I need to leave in about 50 minutes but part of me is thinking I just wanna stay home. I went to the dentist today to get 3, count them, 3 fillings. My mouth hurts, my jaw hurts and I can't eat anything. All I have today is a cinnamon roll, a milkshake and a stick of cheese. Then a few hours ago I started getting shooting pains in my back! Those have gone away, thankfully.

And then my allergies are kicking in. I am petting the cat more since she needs lovin now that she has no tail and I keep forgetting to wash my hands before I touch my face!! So next thing you know I am driving down the freeway to Shelby's dentist appt, eyes itching and my mouth just throbbing!!!! I just wanted to go home and sleep!!! Sigh......

Meet Molly Bob

Meet our new cat Molly Bob. Okay, same cat, just a different look! She is now a "bob" cat! Poor kitty. But on a good note she made it through surgery okay and I am getting used to her stubby little tail. She seems pretty happy to be home and just wants loves. She does not like the cone on her head though! And she has to wear it for 14 days!!! I had to chuckle as she tried to get out of the bathroom and just kept hitting her head, or the cone actually, on the door jam! And she tries to get out of it so she keeps backing up!!

So we enjoyed a day outside today. Tomorrow will be an indoor day since there is talk of rain, rain and more rain. Chad is starting to work on the yard. We want to clear an area for Shelby's swing set, we need to clear by the side of the house and we will also need to replace siding and stuff in the front.

Today is National Goof Off Day. To check out more fun & silly holidays go to

Is "What the" a bad word??

So Shelby & I are sitting here watching TV and the person swears on the TV. Well it's not the pay channel so the bad word gets bleeped out. Shelby turns to me and says "Mommy, is What the a bad word?" Then she said "Is What the heck a bad word?" It just made me smile! I then went on to explain how the guy on tv said "What the *BLEEP!**" and the bleep was the bad word!!

On a sad note...We are taking our cat Molly to the vet on Friday for surgery. She has to *GULP* get her tail removed!! The lump on it is a tumor and in order to keep it from spreading to other parts of her body they have to remove the tail. We can keep the tail but we would have to keep the exposed area clean in order to keep flies from laying eggs in it!! EW YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! I just feel so bad and I hate to do it. Especially since it is going to cost $800!! Luckily we have received our tax return but it seems to be dwindling away VERY quickly!! Why does that always happen? You come in to some extra $$$ and suddenly all of these expenses come up. Vet bills, dentist bills, sigh....................

On a positive note though...I have Friday off from work (company holiday) and my friend & I are getting together to scrapbook!! YAY!!!!!

Flashback to 1982

Okay, so I turned on the TV tonight and as usual there is NOTHING on. You think with over 300 channels I would find something. Well I finally did - Grease 2. Anyone see that movie? Let's see....it was in 1982 and I would have been 6, just about Shelby's age. I LOVED the movie then. Now it seems kind of lame. Okay, it seems REALLY lame. I think Michelle Pfeiffer is the only actor that really went on to anything else. Chad did make a comment about one of the scenes. He said "This was my favorite scene" and I made some comment about "Oh, because of the motorcyles?" or something like that and he goes "No, because it's at the end of the movie. I know the movie is almost over!!"

But I think Shelby girl is going to take after her mommy! She seems to like the movie!!

So, now that we have flashbacked to 1982, let's fast forward to 2008. Today Shelby & I went shopping and she wanted to get some stickers. She was being a pretty good kiddo so I caved. When we got home she made this lovely picture. I was really impressed with this!!

On another note...we have cat issues. Our cat, as I mentioned in a previous post, has a lump on her tail. Well they took a tissue sample and it's a tumor. They want to cut off the tail and send it in for further tests!! It's going to cost $800!!!! We don't know what to do. Molly has been acting perfectly normal for the last few months and doesn't act like she is in any pain. I hate to pay that kind of $$ if she may not live that much longer! Oh, what to do, what to do. And then she got sick on the floor this morning (at 5 am AND I could not go back to sleep afterwards!!) and I start to worry that she is sicker then we thought. It might just be her reacting to the antibiotics she is taking. I don't know......

How do you spend your dash??

As I mentioned in a post a few weeks back, I had a co-worker that passed away from terminal cancer. Well I went to her memorial this last Sunday. Oh, that was tough! There is something about music and photos that just makes me become a puddle of jello!!

Anyway, there was a poem read at her service called "The Dash Poem" by Linda Ellis. I have read/heard this poem before and every time I read/hear it it just makes me stop and think how life is so short and I need to learn to spend my "dash" wisely.

Here is the poem for those of you that have not read/heard it before:

I read of a man who stood to speak
At a funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke the following dates with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

So I decided I will spend my dash enjoying my family, hanging out with my friends and making the most of everything. So you will have to excuse me if my house is not spotless and the dishes have not been done. You will have to step over the pile of clean clothes on my bedroom floor because I would rather spend my dash doing something else!

I love you all and thank you SO much for continuing to check out my blog! It means a lot!! Please mention that in my eulogy - that I spent my dash writing WONDERFUL & FUNNY blogs for you all to read!!;)

I just want a door!!!!

So I honestly think my daughter is 5 going on 15. She is such a drama queen!! So tonight I am taking some person time to myself in the potty, flipping through my scrapbook magazine (sometimes this really is the only place I can get some peace & quiet!!) I hear Chad & Shelby going at it. Bits of "Shelby put the cat down!" "Shelby, I already told you not to do that" Yes, those aren't proper "Love & Logic" phrases but sometimes you just gotta be different.

Next thing I know Shelby is walking by the bathroom door sobbing and saying "I just want a door!! I just want a door!!!!" Odd thing for her to be saying. But I think you will understand when you see these pictures!!!

I must say, I kind of like not having a door there. I might remove all the interior doors in my house!! Especially since all the doors seem to close on their own. I think our house was built at a slant.....

A little bit of this, a little bit of that....

Oh Lord-Y! Has it really been two weeks since I posted a new blog??? I am sure you are all quite upset with me and check back once or twice (if not more!) a day to see if I have posted anything! Right?? RIGHT!?!?

Well what can I say....I haven't had anything exciting to post AND I have been in a BIG funk the past week or so. Sigh....

So let's see....I think it all started when I went to the dentist last week. It was all going good, my teeth looked good, there were only a few problem areas and part of that is due to the fact that I sleep with my mouth open (dries out the gums, yadda, yadda, yadda) Then the dentist comes in...I have 5 freakin' cavities and one filling he wants to re-do!!! crying Maybe that is when my funk started.

Saturday brightened up a bit as I went to Portland with my ScraPack gals for the scrapbook expo. I had $200 so I could spend and not feel I had to hold back. Well I did...but not like I have had to in the past!! It was a lot of fun!!

Sunday started out good. I had received $300 Target gift card (compliments of work) and it was burning a hole in my pocket! Well Shelby felt like running around the store. I told her that if she behaved I might get her something. Well she didn't behave! And she sure let us know that she was PO'd that we did not get her anything! She stomped around and when we got home she stomped to the fridge, got out a package of frozen blueberries and went upstairs. Here is a picture of what I found when I went upstairs!!

Things have been okay since then though we spend TWO hours at the vet last night. Molly, our tortoise colored kitty, has had this lump on her tail for a few months. Well me being the terrible owner that I am have just put off taking her to the vet because it always ends up being so costly! I figured I would watch her owie and take her if it didn't go away. Well it still had not gone away but then a new owie appeared about 3 days ago! So now I was thinking "Huh, there are two owies, I probably should take her in now" Well they don't know what is wrong with her tail so they put her on antibiotics. Have you ever tried to give a cat (a very squirmy, skittish cat at that!) a syringe full of (pink) antibiotics? Not fun....And she has a yeast infection in her ears. Huh, I thought yeast infections only happened in other places...And she has issues with fleas. So....we had to get antibiotics, the ear stuff AND flea medication. And of course if she has flea problems then it means we need to treat the other cat!!! Sigh.......

THEN....I had to go back to the dentist this AM for 3 of my 5 fillings. I think the chair was tipped back to the point where my head was almost touching the ground!! And the headrest was not comfortable at all! I think I bruised my head! And of course you always walk out of the dentist after a filling feeling like your face is the size of a watermelon! You are positive that your lips are curled like Elvis (but I looked in the mirror - mine were not!) The hygienist informed me not to eat anything until the numbness wore off. WHAT!?!? I had eaten light last night and had not had breakfast yet. And now I could not eat? Luckily my loving husband went and got me a milkshake. He treats me SO well!!

Oh, so I just remembered another issue with the vet last night!! We were petting the cat so as to keep her calm and relax her. Well molly has medium to long fur and we aren't very good at grooming her! Who am I kidding, we don't groom her! So while we are petting her there is just cat fur flying like crazy. At this point I should mention that, yes, I am allergic to cats. BUT it's never really an issue because I don't inhale the cats fur all of the time. But here I was petting the cat and then rubbing my eyes. Before you know it my eyes on on fire and my throat is starting to get sore. banging head

Hmm, I guess I should write in my blog more often!!
