Yes Shelby, There really is a Santa Claus

I cannot believe that Christmas has already come and gone. It just always seems to sneak up on us so quickly each year. In fact the whole year had gone by so quickly!

This Christmas sure has been different. With all of this snow I don't think anything has gone as planned. Our Christmas went from 2 days of celebration to 3. We altered our plans from opening gifts Christmas morning to opening them Christmas Eve. I am thinking this might be something we do in future years. Santa will still bring one gift Christmas morning of course! We spent a quiet night at home Christmas Eve, just the three of us and it was VERY pleasant!

This year I was really able to see the whole Christmas holiday through the eyes of a child. Just watching Shelby's excitement over the littlest things was so special. She was so excited to put up the Christmas decorations, to track Santa online. It broke my heart to see how upset she was when we told her family couldn't make it out on Christmas Eve because of the weather.

I realized that I have a very special little girl and I am SO thankful for my family!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Boy this sure has been a Christmas for the record books. Today makes the 12th day that we have been snowed in. Hmm, fitting with it being Christmas. We have seriously had 12 days of Christmas! And really we haven't been snowed in since we have our landcruiser and have been pretty mobile. Until today....

Chad went to the post office in town to pick up our mail. You may be thinking, what is abnormal about that? Well, we don't have a post office box! Our mail is usually delivered! But the postman has not delivered in 3 days. So much for the saying "Nor rain, nor snow, nor dark of night shall keep the postman from his appointed rounds. Anyway, I digress...He went to town and called me a few times because the roads were so bad. Once we heard from my brother later in the day about how bad the roads were we cancelled our plans.

So instead of having family over to our house we just hung out, the three of us. Usually we open gifts in the morning but we opened gifts tonight. Santa will still come tonight with a gift for Shelby and some stocking stuffers. Not sure what our plan will be tomorrow. We are suppose to go to Chad's parents. We will see....

By the way, my husband is SOOOOO awesome! Earlier tonight he told Shelby and I go to upstairs for a bit. When we came down he had this contraption set up in the living room. It was a homemade photo box! So now I can take pic's of all my scrapbook projects to post on my blogs! I am including a pic. The only item we had to take a pic of was videos we bought Shelby.

Overall it was not the Christmas Eve I expected but it was pretty good. And you know as long as my daughter is happy, I am happy!

Merry Christmas to all!!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...

...Oh wait! That ain't no dream!! That is reality!!

Ugh, we are buried under about 12 inches of snow. We have actually had snow in our yard since Saturday the 13th. This past week has just been crazy. First off (and as you know from my last post) Shelby & I both have colds, so between late starts at school and sick kids, Shelby went to school all of 1 day last week. I took more personal time then I have all year because of the snow and my cold. I worked from home almost all week! I guess I am just thankful that I have that option!

Thursday we had tickets to go see Christopher Titus at the Snoqualmie Casino. I was thinking for sure that we would just bail on it but Chad was not going to have that! So we took Shelby over to Grandpa & Grandma's and made the trek out to Snoqualmie. I am glad we did. The roads weren't that bad and Christopher Titus is HILARIOUS!!
Luckily from this point on we are on vacation until January 5th so I can just veg in my house for the next 2 weeks!! And...it looks like the wind passed our area by...WOOHOO!!

So here are some photos from the past few days. Yes, that is Chad going in to the hot tub last night. Crazy man!!

My bazillionth cold this year.....

Seriously, I have another cold! What is up with that??? I know, I know..I have a 6 yr old kid and they are just a walking petri dish. What I don't get is that Shelby gets the cold and yeah, she is coughing and seems a little off but acts pretty normal and doesn't seem to lack any energy. I however get it and am out of commission for days (okay, maybe just a day but it feels longer!) and the thought of moving off the couch (even to go potty) just makes me miserable.

But only a few more days and then no work for me for 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!! Of course silly me...I not only offered to watch my brothers kids next week but I offered to watch one of Shelby's friends the following week. What was I thinking?

I know what I was thinking! I was thinking that they will help keep Shelby out of my hair and I might actually get something accomplished!

Okay, time to go down some good drugs and go to bed. How pathetic is that??? It's 9:14 and I am going to bed!!!!!! Sigh..............

Last Christmas I gave you my heart...

Out of all the songs, I am not sure why Shelby has chosen this one to remember and sing over, and over and over and over and over and....well you get the idea....(don't forget to turn off any background music)

Never leave your child unattended...

First off I have to tell the story of the make-up bag.

I bought a MK make-up bag from my friend. Shelby takes it upstairs and a bit later says I have to go upstairs because she has to show me something. I go upstairs and she shows me how the top pocket is mine, the middle two are hers and the bottom one is mine. And she has already gone through my make up drawer and put my stuff in "my" pockets. She has gone and put her makeup in the other two. Sigh....

Now, flash forward to this morning. I get out of the shower and find out that she has been putting makeup on. Eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara. Granted for a 6 yr old she did a pretty good job, but not good enough where you can go out in public with her wearing all of it. With the dark lipstick she looked like a floozy or that we had been beating her!

If this is how she is now...what will the teenage years be like??!! I am afraid...very afraid!!

Happy Thanksgiving....

I don't think I ate that much but boy, do I feel full!

So I thought I would post a quick blog with what I am thankful for. Though this may be difficult today since I have not been in the best of moods the past few days. But I will give it the ol' college try.

So here we go....

I am thankful for...

*a husband that puts up with me
*a daughter that makes me laugh in the midst of me wanting to strangle her
*a roof over my head, even if it does leak sometimes and a husband that can fix those leaks
*friends that send me messages when they see I am not doing so well
*a car with heated seats
*a decent enough figure (Hey at least my husband still enjoys it!! Wink! Wink!)
*my own personal scrapbook room
*Starbucks coffee
*Chuck on Monday nights
*Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream
*the internet, though my computer doesn't cooperate half the time
*Facebook and myspace so I can keep in contact with friends (past and present)
*my niece and nephew that make me smile
*to be alive to be thankful for all of these items.

My kid is a Genius!!

Well in my eyes at least! We went for our first of many parent/teacher conferences today. Shelby's teacher could not quit telling us what a gem Shelby is. I was a bit puzzled though when she said this was MY daughter Shelby. I was thinking for a minute there that maybe there was another Shelby in the class and the teacher was mixing the two of them up. I mean she said how organized Shelby was, how she listens, behaves. That can't be my daughter!!

Well at least she acts that way for her teacher. That is all I can ask. Basically Shelby is doing well in all areas. She gets a little upset when she doesn't get something right away but her teacher just says to keep her chin up and keep trying. The only area we can help with is sounding things out which we have started to do. But other then that she knows her numbers really well, good at math, etc. etc. I could not be more proud!!

Oh and tonight I was working on the computer and I heard all this noise in the kitchen. I turn around and she had gotten 3 plates out of the cupboard, gotten out sandwich fixings and was making sandwiches for us!!

I am a proud mama!

I met a celebrity....well almost...twice

So if you want to know...I would like to meet someone famous. The closest I have ever gotten was when we went to a Chris Isaak concert and he came in to the audience and stood right in front of us. Oh sure...I could have reached out and touched him but no time to get an autograph (he was singing) and no photo :(

So this last week I was listening to the radio and I heard that one of the actors from General Hospital was going to be in town. I was like "WOOHOO!" because I am constantly looking in my Soap Opera Digest as to where there might be fan events and I am always bummed when they are always in places like California or Florida. But...did you know that the mall he was at (South Hill mall) is in Puyallup? And he was only going to be there from 1:30-2:30. I really didn't want to drive that far (I am sure it is at least an hour away) and then not actually get to meet him. So I opted not to go.

Now my second celebrity almost meeting was actually more virtual. My BFF lives in Arizona and her husband is the uncle of Nick Carter who is in the group Backstreet Boys. They were going to the concert yesterday and were going to get to go backstage to meet the guys. She was going to get a T-shirt, have them all sign it and have the one member call me! But....Nick was sick, in the hospital in LA and the concert was cancelled!! This just proved to me that I was not meant to meet/talk to a celebrity this weekend.

Some day I hope to meet someone famous! That will be my dieing wish. So remember that when you are all sobbing and surrounding me while I am on my death bed - my dieing wish is to meet a celebrity!! So please make sure my wish comes true!!

I'd rather be scrapbooking but...I made the mistake of curling up underneath my down throw and now I am toasty warm and do not want to move!!!

36 Days Until Xmas......

SIGH.....................................Time just flies way to fast. I can't believe Christmas is that close. Of course Shelby can believe it and even said the other day "When is Christmas going to be here?"

We received a toy flyer in the mail the other day and she took it upon herself to circle all the items she wants. I did inform her that Santa won't bring her all of that and she just denied that and said that Santa can bring her anything. Now....I don't want to shatter anyones thoughts/beliefs, but....There is no Santa Claus. That would be me, and well this Santa just cannot afford much of anything this Christmas.

I hate that the Christmas commercials are already on TV. Everytime I turn around Shelby is going "I want that!" and I heard her the other singing "The Kmart way, The Smart Way" or whatever they say on the commercials. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! No more TV until AFTER Christmas!

Tonight we went to Costco and while we were there we looked for a gift for her friend who is having a birthday party this Sunday. Well I am sure you can all remember what it was like when you were a kid and had to buy your friend a gift. It was hard, and you wanted something as well. And god forbid that you get your friend something you don't have!! Well that is the dilemna we ran in to! Shelby wanted something and even though I did want to make her feel better (yes she got the tears going) I just knew I could not buy her something as well. Well we did find a gift for her friend and she is upset all over again because now she wants one for her too.

Honestly I just think she was tired. She went to bed late last night and we picked her up right off the bus and headed in to town.

So, yeah 36 days until Christmas. I think I will be making a lot of homemade gifts this year. One, because I don't really know what to get people and two, because I can't really afford much else. So everyone - you are getting scrapbooks, sets of cards, calendars and anything else I can make with paper, glue, scissors and bling!!

I'd rather be scrapbooking - okay, no I would rather be vegging on the couch but I know I should be scrapbooking since my card workshop is less then 3 weeks away. But that is what the extra long Thanksgiving holiday weekend is for, right??!!

I am P-O-O-P-E-D. POOPED!!

Life has been busy lately! It seems the weekends have been filled with halloween gatherings, birthday parties, scrapbooking and a baby shower. A lot of being on my feet, cleaning and a little bit of stress! I am P-O-O-P-E-D, pooped. In which Shelby said "I know what that means. You are tired!"

So yes, lots of stuff going on. Last weekend was Shelby's 6th birthday party. Friday night we went to Chuck E Cheese with the g-pas and my brothers family. We closed the place down. Then Saturday we did a spa themed party. I went to the dollar store and bought little purses and then bought a bunch of hair accessories, makeup and lipstick that the girls could pick from for their purse! Then I made a cake (out of cupcakes) that was in the shape of a purse. Not something I would try to profit from but the 6 yr olds seemed to like it!

This weekend it was the scrapbook expo on Friday. Today was dropping Shelby and her friend off at Dance Camp (the bit I saw was VERY cute!) and then home to get ready for my friends baby shower.

I think I am done with stuff for at least a few weeks! I hope!! Maybe??

I should not be allowed to vote.....

So my absentee ballot for this upcoming election has just been sitting next to the couch. Today I finally grabbed it and decided that the ideal time to fill it out was on the way to work. Please note that Chad was driving! I was in the passenger seat!!

So I am reading through them and commented a few time on the candidates, who they were, etc. etc. In some cases Chad would say "That is the incumbent" so I was like "Hmm, they seemed to have done a good job these past 4 yrs, let's vote for them!" Then there was the guy who's last name was McKenna. Well that is my nieces name! So I had to vote for him!! I am sure some of you are cringing right now!!

So anyway I filled out the ballot and stuck it in the envelope and stuck it in the mail at work. I felt so proud of myself until I was driving to the grocery store tonight and realized....I forgot to put a stamp on my envelope! Sigh!!!!!!!!!!! I am not sure if the mailroom at work will catch it (and send it back to me) or if the postal service will see that it is an election ballot and ignore the postage issue. If nothing else I hope they send it back to me and I can put on postage and get it back out before the 4th!!

Really, I should not be allowed to vote. When I registered I should have received a rejection notice!!

I should be scrapbooking but I'd rather just veg on the couch and complain and whine and stew over everything that isn't going right in my life.......

I am pooped................

So I went on a scrapbook retreat this weekend. It was a lot of fun! It was at this ladies house that is in Sammamish. She has an upstairs with 3 bedrooms and this huge media/rec room. It has tables, a big screen TV and lots and lots of snacks! Then she serves you 5 meals as well as mochas and lattes per your request! It was HEAVEN!

I worked on one project and completed it. I will have to show pic's at a later date. I also did the invites for a friends baby shower I will be hosting. But man...am I tired! I didn't know that scrapbooking could take that much out of you! I mean it's been a whole day already and I am still exhausted!!

So much is going on right now it seems. And the weather is getting icky! It was hailing today and it gets dark so much earlier now :(

Shelby's birthday is in a few weeks and that all seems to be falling in to place.

Okay, I know this is a really lame post but I just need to sit back on the couch and stare off in to space like a zombie!

Picture it...Woodinville...1994

(What is sad is that my photos from 1994 actually did look like this!)

Not much to say. Just thought I would write a new post. I am actually sitting here racking my brain thinking that there has to be something that has happened since my last post to talk about but my mind is blank!! A clean slate, white as the fallen snow, nobody is home!

I went shopping with my friend Yvonne today. That was fun! And we didn't really buy much! I got a few things that were on sale. And we aren't talking like a few $$ off - I got a jacket that was originally $44 for $19.99 - though they tried to charge me $24.99! And I got a shirt for $8.99 that was originally $30! I mean, could I really pass that up????

I hate colds. I hate colds that linger! Luckily I don't feel like I did last week where I was positive that my head was going to explode into little itty bitty pieces but the cough is there and the nose still gets stuffed up. UGH!!!!

I heard someone say the other day that there are like 78 days left until Christmas. YIKES!! And I have so much other stuff going on - Shelby's birthday and party, I am doing a baby shower for my friend and then I am planning a crop/card workshop. I don't know why I am getting stressed. I mean it's not like I have any thing else going on. I mean I basically get home in the evenings and veg, watch TV and surf the net and emails. This just means that I will have to get some ambition and actually do something in the evenings! I probably should do this anyway because well I am not getting any younger and the fat doesn't just disappear off of my body from sitting on the couch. But if it did....dude I would be SKINNY!!!!

I'd Rather be scrapbooking but instead I will veg on the couch, watch TV and surf the net!

F to the R to the E to the E.....

So Shelby was singing a cute little diddy earlier tonight and I was like "Where have I heard that before?" and I was racking my brain through all of her Disney channel, Noggin shows and nothing. So I asked where that was from and Chad pipes up with "A commercial" Are any of you familiar with the freecredit.com commercials with the catchy tunes? There is one where the guy is riding around on to a bicycle and singing. Man...my kid watches too much television!!!

So nothing really to report. We have all been down with "The Cold". I cannot believe how quickly it came on! I went to work Tuesday and felt totally fine. In the afternoon I started to sneeze. Okay...no biggy. I sneeze all of the time. Well by the time I got home my sinuses were starting to bug me and my nose was running. I had planned to see a movie with my mom (Nights in Rodanthe) and though I wasn't feeling all that great I didn't want to cancel. Well by the time the movie was over my sinuses were about to explode and my mom could notice the difference from the time I had picked her up to the time I dropped her off. I have NO idea how I got home because I felt SO miserable! I thought that once I got in to bed I would be fine but NO!!! Basically I felt like my head was going to explode for the next 24 hours. I stayed home from work TWO days! And even this weekend I noticed that I just lack energy!! Why is it that Shelby has the same thing but she showed no signs of feeling miserable besides having the runny nose and coughing! I mean she was still running around and made it to school all week.....

So, in a month little Miss Shelby will be 6! Ooh, she will turn 6 on the 6th! What is that?? Her golden birthday??? I think I talked her out of the expensive places! One place was $25/person and the other place was like $300! UGH!! So I think I have talked her in to a "makeover" party. I am still kind of rolling the ideas around in my head so we will see what I come up with.

And on that note...I am going to go put on something a little more comfortable (boom chicka boom boom!!) and veg in front of the TV.

Saturday, September 20, 2008

Hi-ho, Hi-ho it's off to school we went....

Last night was the first (of many) school programs at Shelby's school. Last night it was the "Bite of Stillwater" They had various local restaurants there with food (pizza, gyros, teriyaki, espresso, cookies) and then there were raffle tickets that you could buy to try to win gift baskets that the various classes had provided.

Originally it was suppose to be nice yesterday but it was gray and drizzly all day! But we went anyway! My friend who lives near the school and has a 1st grader wasn't going and I asked if she wanted us to take her daughter with. Boy, were the girls excited about that! And even though her friends dad ended up going she still went with us.

Boy, did they have a good time! They ran in to another friend of theirs and the girls were playing ring around the rosie and just having a great old time!

Overall the evening was a success. Even Chad enjoyed himself! (I know, surprise, surprise!)Shelby was upset because she did not win one of the baskets. Join the club kiddo! I never win anything either!!

It is just fun and somewhat bittersweet to watch Shelby transition in to this new milestone in her life. Each day she seems to work a little bit more towards gaining her independence and though I do want her to be independent it saddens me that my little baby is growing up!

Oh the joys of being a parent.

Monday, September 8, 2008

Oh where, oh where can my baby be?? Kindergarten took her away from me...

My baby is gone! She got on the bus Friday my little baby and got off the bus a big school ager!! When did she grow up on me!!!???

Well Shelby seems to enjoy school. When we got her off the bus on Friday she could not stop talking! All about the bus, kids in her class, who she played with at recess. And she got very annoyed by me asking TONS of questions. I really got to watch that!

And to top it off...she lost her second tooth! She lost the first on last Sunday and the other at school on Friday! Too much for a mommy to take in a weeks time!!! My heart...is...breaking!!!!

On another note, we went to Seaside for a car show this past weekend. It was sure nice to get away, at least for a few days. And Shelby loves going to the "beach house". Plus we had extra spending $$ and it's always great to spend money where there is no sales tax!! WOOHOO!!!

I'd rather be scrapbooking but I twisted my neck over the weekend and I can barely lift it! I am in severe pain and think I am going to go crawl in to bed now.....

Friday, September 5, 2008

My L'il Girl is in Kindie Now!!

My little girl is a big school ager now!! WAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! And she handled it a lot better then I did of course! No issues getting her up this morning (of course it was a bit later then when we used to get up!) and she just kept going "Is it time go yet? Can we go now?" and then we drove down to the end of the road to wait for the bus and she was basically bouncing off the car windows and saying "Where is my bus??" There were two other kids at the bus stop. Hmm, I did not know there were other elementary age kids on our street!

She did get a bit quieter when we actually walked to her the bus and she climbed on. But...one of my friends is her bus driver! So that is a relief!!

And already my daughter is giving me that "MO-O-O-O-M!!" I tried to take pic's this morning and she just rolled her eyes at me!!

So I will have you know that we were not following the bus (as it may look like from the one picture) Seriously, we were heading to town to get Starbucks coffee!!

So now I do housework and get ready for our trip to Seaside while I wait for Shelby's school day to get over with.

Meeting the teacher, attending the fair and buying school supplies,...Summer is almost over :(

So it seems that summer is quickly coming to a close. And unfortunately I don't know if we really had much of one this year! We had a few hot days here and there (and to be honest...a lot of them were TOO warm for me)but I don't know if I am ready for rainy days and cold nights!

I will have you know that I am fighting on having to wear shoes and socks as long as I can! So this may mean that you see me walking through snow in summer sandals! The thought of wearing socks and shoes on my feet just sound so stifling! I don't wanna do it! My toes need to breathe!!!!!

So in a few days my little girl will be starting kindergarten. I have relaxed a bit now that we have visited her classroom and met her teacher. And she seems excited about riding the bus now! Before when I told her she would be riding a bus she said "No, you will be dropping me off" We will be adjusting our work schedule (Working from 9-3 in the office and then a few hours before and after at home) We will see how that works. But it means only having to pay for All Day kindergarten (about $330) which is more the half of what we were paying for preschool!

Speaking of preschool...I got such a nice call from Shelby's preschool teacher on Thursday. It was Shelby's last day and we had gotten her teacher a little gift. One of the items was a much from Starbucks. It had an insert that Shelby colored. She drew a picture of herself and of her teacher. Her teacher just LOVED it and said she even cried. And I guess Shelby followed her around all day and kept giving her hugs. My little girl is just a compassionate little girl! It amazes me how caring she is!! Must get that from me! ;)

Gets her stubbornness from me too. Remember a few posts back where I said she had a loose tooth. Well she has two now and both still have not come out! And the one is VERY loose. I try to wiggle it but she won't let me and she makes sure to eat food on the sides of her mouth. I tell her that the tooth fairy will come and leave her $$ but it doesn't matter to her! Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn!!

So we went to the fair yesterday. That was fun and no rain! Though it was muggy during the day (and I was wearing socks and tennies - My feet could not breathe!!)but it got quite breezy by the time we left. We had scones, elephant ears, checked out the animals, Shelby went on a few rides (and we talked her out of a fish!) We checked out this cool curling iron (that cost $129!!! YIKES!), I got a cool magnetic bracelet (let's hope it helps with circulation and stuff and my wrist quits hurting) and um, I guess that is about it! But it was fun!!

So, I procrastinated and waited until today to get school supplies for Shelby. I had to deal with crowds (and have you ever noticed nowadays how people are so oblivious at stores and just leave their carts in the middle of the aisles???) and empty bins where supplies should have been. But luckily I got everything on her list except for the glue sticks. And I talked her in to the $10 backpack!! WOOHOO!!

So with that being said...Summer is coming to a close. :( I really do like stuff about each season but I think summer is the one that I am saddest to see go. I mean I like autumn and winter as I enjoy curling up under a blankie at home and reading a good book but by the time spring rolls around I am SO ready for warmer weather and less clothes! We will however be making one last summer trip. Friday we will be heading down to the beachhouse (aka the Worldmark condo Chad's parents have reserved in Seaside)for the Wheels and Waves car show. Should be fun!!

And since you probably dozed off about 3 paragraphs ago I will end this post!

I'd rather be scrapbooking but my craftroom is a mess and anyway I am curled up on the couch watching a rerun of Chuck.....

Blogs, blogs everywhere....

So my friend (and also my CTMH upline) mentioned to me tonight that she had a blog. And I was like...a friend of mine has a blog and I don't know about it and/or have a link on my blog?? Well she does now! So check out the Bizzy Mom blog! The link is to the right!

And...she doesn't write on it very often but I figure if she knows we are all reading it that she will write more!!

Not much else from me tonight. Things have been pretty dull around here. I went out with two of my closest friends last night and we are all really pathetic! We were home by 11! But it was fun! I think the waiter was hitting on me until my friend mentioned I was married :( Oh well.....

Well off to the last week of summer. Shelby starts school the following week so "summer vacation" will be over. This will be a transition for all of us. A good one but just different..ya know??

I have found a new hobby!!

So I have added a hobby to my life! Granted I don't have too many so this is a good thing! I mean besides scrapbooking my hobbies are only reading and sitting on my butt, which usually go hand in hand.

So a few months ago Chad purchased a new set of golf clubs. His old set he had traded to my brother for something (a car part I think???) Well my brother had them in the trunk of his car and then when he split from psycho be-otch she took the car and sold it and probably the golf clubs right along with it. So Chad bought a new set a while back and once he did I became a bit interested. And tonight...we bought me some golf clubs!!!! I was out hitting balls around in my front yard tonight!!

Here are pic's of my new toy!!! Now to get the outfit, the shoes, a glove, some plaid pants....And you know, a golf cart might be good. I mean that front yard of ours IS pretty big.....

Well in about a week...well more like 2 weeks with this slow start thing the kindergarten classes do...Shelby will be starting school. We went to Kohls last weekend and got most of her clothes. Just need a few more staples and we are done! We started to do a fashion show but didn't get through all the outfits! Here are some! Isn't she just a beautiful girl??!! Gets that from her mommy!!

Same Time, Next Year

Well we went to the Motley Crue concert on Friday. Well Crue Fest actually. Motley Crue was the headlinder (duh!) and the other bands were Papa Roach, Sixx:AM, Buckcherry, and one other one I have never heard of nor did we get there in time to see.

Speaking of not getting there in time...We left work at 3, the concert started at 5. It should not have taken 2 hrs but it did! We got there after 5! But like I said, I never heard of the first band so no skin off of my nose on that!

What great people watching! The world is full of such a vast group of people! The most fun were the lady with the too tight pants, too short shirt and her muffin top pokin out in between the two pieces of clothing. She seems um, a little out of it (aka drunk and/or stoned) and kept wrestling with her friends and her kids. Yes, you read me correctly - kids! There were kids there! Like between the ages of 6-8! Amazing! Then there was the drunk guy and his friend next to us. Several times we chased after the drunk guy to bring him back to his friend! :)

So the morning of the concert I asked Chad which car we were driving that day. He said the Landcruiser because it would be easier to find after the concert. Smart guy! Smarter then the Yellow Shirt girls. First off...the one girl wore spiked heals! And the parking lot was all gravel! So after the concert we were sitting in the car, not moving, and watched the Yellow Shirt girls walk by one, two, three times. Chad mutters under his breath "It's a silver Honda!" And that is why we did not drive the blue Acura - that looks like every other car!!

So then it took us 2 hrs to get home too! But...overall we had a great time!! So, same time next year!!

Girls Night

So last night Chad spent the evening in a seedy motel with his friend down in Tacoma. Okay, so maybe it wasn't seedy...but it is in Tacoma. Anyway, he was gone so it was a Girls Night at home for Shelby & I. And what a fun night it was....(do you feel the sarcasm just dripping from that sentence??)

I let Shelby pick out movies to watch. We watched The Little Mermaid II (what an oscar winner) and Sleeping Beauty. Then she wanted her nails painted so I, as the nail technician Flora, painted them three shades of pink. Can you tell by my name that we were watching Sleeping Beauty at this time??

Today it is off to Remlinger Farms. Hope the rain will taper off!

I need help thinking....

So most of the time I want to strangle my dear daughter. I just sit there and wait for her horns to retreat back in to head. Well last night was one of those nights where her horns retreated I asked Shelby about these shelves we put in her closet and she said she just didn't know what she wanted to put on the shelves yet and she just needed time to think, that she needed help thinking.

A few minutes later she came in the room with a book, saying she needed this book to help her think. Well it was a bible! I explained what the bible was and that it was a book about god and she said "God is going to help me think" Then she proceeded to lay down in her bed and "read" the bible!

Yesterday we posted a few items on craigslist. Well the phone rang last night and I thought Chad had answered it! Though I should have known better because I heard pitter patter of little feet from upstairs. A few minutes later Shelby yells down the stairs "It's someone from craigslist!" Well at least she listened to me the day I told her she could answer the phone but could only talk to the people if it was a relative or friend of the family. Anyone else and she had to get us right away!! I have my own secretary now!!

Life is Good

You ever just have one of those days where you arel like, "My life is good"?

Today was one of those days. We woke up (and early, not late like in my dream where we got up late and missed things!) went to a VW show that Chad wanted to and then got to our company picnic at a reasonable time. Shelby pretty much behaved herself and we hung out with our friend Alicia and her son Cameron. This may have helped Shelby behave! Alicia's husband Jon bailed on the picnic (supposedly he was helping a friend move?? But Chad says he never helps people move. But I seem to recall him helping us move! So who knows!) Anyway our company picnic was at Remlinger Farms. It really is a fun place to go! Now it's home to veg with the family!

Tomorrow I hope to scrapbook because I have some stuff I need to make and send to my new pal in Rhode Island. She too is a CTMH consultant and we both joined a secret pal swap last August. So I guess she really isn't a "new" friend since we have been cooresponding for almost a year! It has been so much fun! We have a lot in common (we love anything 80's, have daughters that are both 5 and have the same outlooks on so many things) and it has been fun to develop this new friendship. Too bad she lives in RI!! But we have decided to do monthly swaps and stuff. That should be fun!

So here is a LOVELY pic of me today.

Why don't you have another kid??

I am bored! Why don't you have another kid? I want you to have another one because I am bored being the only kid.

Yes, those are words spoken from my daughter today. She is bored and obviously that is my fault because we have only chosen to have one kid and have not provided her with a lifetime playmate!!

Of course does she realize at this point she would probably still be bored because her sibling would be quite a bit younger then her and not able to play for a few years yet?

Kids say the darndest things! I better go try to curb her boredom so I can at least enjoy my day.

Shelby has a loose tooth!!!

So this morning we dropped Shelby off at preschool and she makes some comment about how she bit down on one of her teeth. She then proceeds to point at one tooth and wiggle it. Well I went to wiggle it and the one she had been "wiggling" did not move but the one next to it did!!

My l'il girl will soon loose a tooth!! You would not believe how excited yet sad I was! It just hit me...My little girl is growing up! First it's a loose tooth, then she will be needing a bra, then she will be wanting to date boys!! Where does the time go!?!?!?!?

So now we just sit and wait for it to fall out. I am sure you are all curious as to when it will happen so I will keep you posted! Hee, hee!!

Happy 4th of July!!

Okay, so I am a day late and a dollar short. I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July! We went up to Camano Island where our friends family has a house. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling quite like myself - I had been having dizzy spells all day. And then my allergies kicked in. I wanted to go home but Shelby wanted to stay to watch fireworks. So we stuck it out as long as we could. We really didn't get to see too many fireworks so we stopped at a stand on the way home and picked up a few fountains and let those off when we got home. Then we sat down and watched a movie. All in all, it wasn't too bad of a day.

I had to laugh this morning as Shelby asked me about the papertowels we got at Target the other day. She asked if they were Bounty. I said yes at which point she informed me of the following "You know, you only need one papertowel to clean up spilled milk or juice!" My goodness! She watches way too much TV!!!

I'm walking on sunshine

...and don't it feel good!?!?!

It's about freakin' time that we have summer, well really spring since we seemed to miss that all together! And after our last week with Shelby so sick and us feeling a bit under the weather ourselves I am just so thankful to be feeling good (well besides my allergies kicking in) and to be enjoying the beautiful weather!

Yesterday Shelby & I went over to visit our friends. She & Kylie are a few months apart (Kylie was born in August, Shelby in November). It was so much fun to watch them interact. At one point the two girls were over on the swingset and I overheard them talking about their boyfriends...What!?!!???!???! My LORD-Y! They are too young for that!!!

Ooh, the pain! My chest!! My chest hurts!! I think I am having a heart attack!!! My daughter is growing up WAY too fast!!

Happy Birthday to Chad

And the poor guy is having one heck of a day. Shelby has been sick since Friday evening. I had no time to go out and get him a gift and we can't go out and celebrate tonight since she is still sick.

But we celebrated the best that we could. Shelby & I made cards and we improvised with the cake! (Yes, those are chocolate donuts!) Good thing that Chad & I have turned 30 in the last few years and Shelby had a third birthday!

Our Day in the ER

Not how I wanted to spend my Sunday afternoon, let me tell you that!!

So here is the story:

Friday night as we are driving home Shelby says her tummy hurts. No big deal, she says this a lot. Well a bit later she jumps off the couch, covers her mouth and high tails it to the potty. And so our FUN weekend began. From that point on Shelby had it coming out both ends until today. Well we thought we were finally through it until she was sick again this AM, had a fever and was very lethargic. So off to the ER we went.

And 6 hours later we have nothing to really say except that what she has is just viral. Were we over-reacting? I don't know but I would rather be safe then sorry. For those of you that know as well, we are not ones to over-react. So you can understand Shelby really had to be out of sorts for us to do this.

You wanna know the worst part? I almost brought along my camera so I could take pic's to scrapbook later! Oh but have no fear! Chad & I both took pic's w/our camera phones and I have her wristband and the stickers she got after the x-ray to scrapbook !

Okay, I just wanna go take a nap.

Pederslie's Money Pit - Day 1,456

Okay, so it really has not been that many days since we started our house projects...it just seems like it!

Sorry about the teeny pic's...But believe me...after the hassle I have gone through this is it! I don't know how many tries it took me to finally post all of these pic's! Have I mentioned lately that I HATE computers!!!!?????!!!!

Calgon, take me away! Far, far away.....

Ugh, I do not wrong with me. I am in such a funk and I have no idea why or how to get out of it! I am just very irritable, frustrated, tired, bored.....And all I want to do is go shop!! Unfortunately then I would be even more dispressed and/or frustrated when the bill came for the credit card!!!!! It is like no one can do anything to please me. It either ticks me off or upsets me. I have this HUGE, I mean GIGANTIC, pile of clothes to put away and every night I just put it off because I have no energy and the clothes just multiply. So then the next day I am depressed because the pile is still there AND has gotten larger all on its very own!! Oh and then my freakin' computer is crappin' out on me!! It keeps losing internet connection then it defaulted my user ID so I had lost all my email. I restored the computer and my email is back but I am sure this is not the end of the problems. It just makes me wanna cry.......

But enough about my funk. Today was Fathers Day. Shelby gave daddy a coffee mug with an insert that she colored herself. She did very well at keeping within the lines and daddy LOVED it. She also went around yesterday and collected rocks from the yard. Well then she put them in a box and made a card for daddy. Daddy got the rock collection. He was, uh, so thrilled. But he said he will use them for our fountain when it finally goes in. It was cute!

On that note, I think I am going to go lay down.

Our L'il Graduate

Shelby graduated from preschool today! It was so cute! A few more months and it is off to kindergarten (and more money in my checkbook as her all day kindergarten will be cheaper then preschool!! WOOHOO!!!)
