Well I was put in my place!

So...Shelby comes out of the bathroom tonight in a huff. She is holding a ceramic jar w/a candle inside. She informs me that it is a decoration and does not belong underneath the sink in the bathroom, that it goes in the living room! I am pretty sure she shook her head at me in disgust and finished it off with an "Grrrrr!" Gof forbid I move any of the stuff around in my house without running it by Shelby first!! Funny but I don't even recall sticking the candle underneath the sink in the bathroom. I think she is framing me!!

On a positive note...I think I am feeling normal again! I was actually able to eat food today and not feel like I was going die afterwards. And.....joy of joy.....I was able to drink a frappacino and it tasted great and didn't upset my tummy!!!starbucks
OH JOY!!! I am back amongest the living!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"...Just keep swimming swimming swimming...What do we do we swim, swim, swim..."

Well today Chad & I took the day off since Shelby's preschool was closed and we took her to the aqarium. We have free passes through work and decided it was a good day to go.

Note to others...Do not plan an outing on a school holiday as every other parent and their mothers have had the same idea!

Do you know that I have never been to the Seattle Aquarium? Never! Never with my family and never for a school fieldtrip. Needless to say....I don't thik I missed that much. Don't get me wrong...it was fun but I was thankful we had free passes! It was fun to see Shelby though. She just could not stand still! She was wanting to run all over the place. Chad suggested we take her to the Marymoor dog park so that we could let her off of her leash!!

I think the cutest part was where we saw the clownfish and blue tang and Shelby says "There is Dori and Nemo and Nemo's dad!!" Actually she calls her "Dorfee" And then there were some other fishes we were looking at and she says "That is is from Nemo too. It was one of the fishes in the tank at the dentist office."

Oh, my darling daughter! You just gotta love her...when you are not wanting to strangle her that is!!

On another note.....I am starting to feel better but still am not 100%. UUGGHH!! I am so sick of this! I can't eat anything and if I do I regret it! And no...I am not pregnant! Unless Chad is as well, in which case we could make money off of it and live fat and happy!! But I guess the advantage is that I will hopefully lose a few pounds since I can' eat! Of course most of the stuff that does sound good is candy, pastries, cookies, etc. so...maybe the weight loss won't happen. In any case...I hope I start to feel better soon.

On a sad note a co-worker of mine passed away over the weekend. I didn't know her all that well and had only worked with her on a occasion but she was always such a sweet lady and fun to be around. She just found out right before Christmas that she had terminal cancer. Of course this hit close to home as my grandpa was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few months before he passed away. The doctors do tell you that the person has less then a year to live but you always expect it to be closer to a year, not just a few months. But then again, I think I would rather have the person not suffer as much pain and to have their family remember them as a vibrant person and not someone that just withered away. In any case, it just made me think of all my family and friends and how I really value having all of you in my life. Though there are days that I would love to strangle some people (mainly my little princess of a daughter) I could not imagine my life without the people I have around me. The people that make me cry, smile, laugh so hard I may pee my pants a little :)..I wouldn't be where I was today if it wasn't for all of you.

As Dori says:
"...Just keep swimming swimming swimming...What do we do we swim, swim, swim..."

And that is what I intend to do...with the help of my friends! Just keep swimming!

Happy Valentine's Day to All!!

Okay, Okay...so Valentine's was yesterday. So sue me!!!! I have been sick and in bed (or asleep on the couch) early each night!

So last night I invited my friend Yvonne and her son Ben over to have dinner and bake cookies with us. The kids were more excited I think with just being able to play with each other. The cookie baking & decorating only held their interest for a short time!!

So when I got to work yesterday there was a dozen red roses on my desk. My dear hubby who had gotten to work before me had lef them there! Ain't he the sweetest? I am such a lucky lady!! Anyway, I brought them home today and I had to laugh at what Shelby said. She took one of the roses out and said:

Mommy, it's like on The Bachelor where he gives out a rose. And if a girl does not get a rose then she doesn't get to stay inside

Hee, hee! Kids!!

So, since we did not want to go out in the middle of the week Chad & I planned to have a date night tonight. Well my cold has not gone away yet! My stomach was cramping up today (though two cups of Pepto helped that!!) and then these weird back pains kicked in. I just feel run down and did not feel up to sitting through a movie or going out to dinner (Thai). But Red Robin sounded good so he is picking that up on the way home and we are having a date at home!! Shelby is staying overnight with McKenna, Conner and Uncle Mike. So I can lay on the couch in peace and not have the little munchkin pushing her way in. Don't get me wrong...I love cuddling with my little girl but the couch ain't big enough for the both of us!!

You get the best of both worlds!!

So I took Shelby to the Hannah Montana movie yesterday. It cost $15/person!! Why didn't anyone warn me about that!?!?! LORD-Y!! We were going to go Saturday but Shelby was such a pill Friday night that we finally said "Enough! No movie tomorrow!!"
So all the hoopla I heard was that you had to buy tickets in advance, the theaters were packed, yadda, yadda, yadda. So I went and bought my ticket early - but only a few hours mind you, not days in advance! Then I got lost trying to get back to the theater so we were late! I was like "Crud! We won't be able to find a good seat!" So we go in there, and I give our tickets to the guy and head to the theater. We walk in and there are only two other people in there!!!! I look at my ticket stub to make sure we had walked in to the correct theater. We had....Okay, not the huge crowd I was expecting. So Shelby & I put on our 3D glasses and sat back and enjoyed the movie. I am still not sure if it was worth the $15 but we both enjoyed it. The music was good and I chuckled a few times. Most of all I enjoyed it when Shelby goes "It's like they are coming out of the TV screen!" and then when a drummer throws the drumstick Shelby jumps back and goes "Whoa!"
Overall it was a good day with my girl!

"The One with Joey's New Girlfriend"

Okay, so you may be looking at the title of this blog and thinking "What the heck is she talking about!?!" Well if any of you are total, crazy "Friends" fan like myself you will probably understand!

This was the episode where Phoebe has a cold and ends up having this really sultry/sexy singing voice and tries to catch a cold again to keep the voice! Well that is how I have felt the past few days! I have the raspy voice!!

I love "Friends"! There was question they asked on the radio the other day. It was a survey that had been taken (by who, who was interviewed and why I don't know) Anyway, the question asked was "If you had to watch only one show for the rest of your life, what would it be?"
Well the first thing that popped in to my head was "Friends". And sure enough....that was the answer! I can watch that show anytime that it is one!! And what is really sad is that I can relate so many of things in my life to an episode. I find myself so often telling someone "This reminds me of an episode of Friends?" Or I can be sitting around a table with friends (the real ones, not the show!) and one of us will go "Do you remember the episode of Friends where...."

Okay, off to go help my daughter with the Valentine cards for her preschool class!

You like me! You really like me!!

So I had a friend say to me today "I was checking out your blog..." And I was like, "People are actually checking out my blog!??!" They like me! They really like me!!!! Though my stinkin' husband never checks it out! So yeah, all of you that are reading this...give him a hard time about that!!! That will teach him to get on the internet and only search craigslist and the hot rod bulletin boards!!

Speaking of my family (well one member of it anyway) I just wanted to post the following pic of my hubby and beautiful daughter. This is typically how we spend our Friday nights, cuddled up watching tv/movies. Who am I kidding!! This is how we spend every night! We have no social life and are very lazy!! ;-)

And I also wanted to show off the cards I made recently. I showed Chad these cards and instead of his usual "Uh huh, those are nice." he was like "Wow! I really like those!" Not saying that he doesn't think my other scrapbook items are nice looking but I have to say that I am quite proud of these myself! Though I have not had any creative thoughts since I made these......

I'd rather be scrapbooking...but my craft room is upstairs, there is no TV in there and like I said a few minutes ago...I think my creative juices have stopped flowing for a few days...Maybe tomorrow.....

Cough, cough, weeze, weeze.....

Ugh, I finally caught the dreaded "Cold". I have been home two days with it! Today I could at least work from home so I won't be behind tomorrow!! I slept most of yesterday, barely ate (because nothing sounded good besides fruit & ice cream!!) had a killer sore throat and could barely talk. The sore throat is gone though a cough lingers. Hopefully it won't be one of those cases where I have the terrible cough for weeks and its so bad that Chad brings water up to me in bed because he can hear my coughing fit all the way downstairs where he is at!!

So I was watching TV yesterday, and I must have been pretty delirious because I saw this infomerial for something called Kinoki - these Japanese foot pads that supposedly help rid the body of harmful toxins - and I thought "Must have those!!" Luckily sleep took over and I went back to my nappy-poo!! One of many yesterday!!

So....I think I am going to try to take Shelby to the Hannah Montana movie on Saturday. Unfortunately it is only playing at a few theaters and the one closest to us does not have the convenience of purchasing tickets online! I am almost tempted to go to the theater that is farther away so that I can purchase tickets online! I don't want to drive to the theater on Saturday and not be able to get tickets!!

My kid does not listen!!!!!!!!!!! I just had to mention that....

And on that note...I am off to veg...though I would rather be scrapbooking!! :)

I am pretty, oh so pretty!!

So I looked at myself in the mirror today, make-up on (Mary Kay, I LOVE IT!), my new glasses that I just LOVE and I think to myself, "Huh, I am actually an attractive person." Okay, I am not supermodel but I would like to say that I am pretty decent looking! After 32 years I am finally pretty! It's like it too me this long to grow into a pretty person! Because I have to say up to this point (at least when I look back at pictures) that I don't think I was very good looking up to this point. Surprising that Chad actually married me! It must have been my wonderful personality or sense of humor. Or the mere fact that he found out I enjoyed classic cars and came from a family that enjoyed them as well. He probably thought "Woohoo! Someone that will let me work on my car hobby!!"

So not much else to report today. I went to lunch & shopping with my friend Yvonne today. It was the two of us and our kiddos. It is so much fun to listen to our little people jibber and jabber and laugh at the most ridiculous things! I have no idea what they are talking about but it's like they have their own little secret code/language. Oh well....it made me smile!

Okay, off to watch the superbowl!! Haa!!!! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Hee, haa, haa!!!!! I am joking!! What!?!? Me, watch football!?!?!? Hee, hee, hee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
