The one about several things....

...Okay so we have been working a bit more outside but I am too lazy right now to post any pic's. I worked on the rocks again. I put the morter between the rocks and smoothed it out. Sounds like fun huh?? Chad, dad & sis worked on the siding above the garage door. Pretty soon we will have this part, the side leading up to the front door and in that little alcover sided so we can start painting. We are SLOWLY getting it done!

Okay so topic #2. Oblivious people (and I am not just talking about my mom!! Hee, hee!) I went to Costco today (I know, stupid move on a Saturday!) Luckily I went pretty early so it wasn't too bad. But...you get the people that are just strolling down the middle of the aisle, not even aware you are behind them or trying to maneuver around them!! And then there was the lady and her two kids at Payless Shoe Source! Basically her and her two girls are blocking the aisle. I say "Excuse me" and the lady even looks up at me yet she does not move or ask her kids to move! AND...her kids leave their trash behing!! ERGH!!!!

And topic #3 - which I was thinking about on my trip home from shopping today. Have you ever played the "What if" game? You know the game where you think to yourself "What if I had taken that other job?" "What if I had not broken up with Billie Bob Joe?" Now don't get me wrong, I love my life and I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason but sometimes I think "How would my life be different had I taken job #1 instead of job #2" "What if I had persued Joe Blow more?" But then I think I would not have my wonderful husband and my adorable daughter! It just makes you wonder you know??!!!

Did I have a topic #4? I feel like I had something else I wanted to discuss...Huh, better go check on the hubby and see when we might be having dindin.

One of those days

So it is just one of those days were I have been pissed, upset, almost in tears...oh and I am in severe pain....again. Sigh....

So anyway, yesterday morning I wake up with a kink in my neck. I am thinking I must have slept on it weird. But as the day progresses it just gets worse to the point where my neck is so stiff and I can barely move and I actually felt a bit nauseous. So my wonderful hubby rubs my back (hits the BIG knot in my neck - oh that felt good!) and puts icey hot on the spot as well as heats up both of my heating pads. He does this twice for me! Once when we got home and a second time when he got in to bed! He is the greatest!

So today it still hurts but I am a bit more mobile. But then I had to deal with work. As you probably all know I have just been SWAMPED for over the past year with no end in sight. It is VERY stressful. And then I have to work with people that have work ethics that are worse then what my daughter, my five year old daughter!!, has for preschool! It's basically "I am going to do what I want, screw everyone else" Oh and then there are the customers that are like " I want my parts...YESTERDAY!" Well then you should have ordered them the day before yesterday! I guess it doesn't help that I am still trying to get caught up after having been out on vacation last week. Vacations are suppose to be relaxing but you spend the week prior to it getting ready and then the week after trying to get caught up! It's not worth it!

Anyway, I just wanna cry. My life is so disjointed right now. I am so confused, depressed, did I mention confused?? and I just don't know what to do!! My happy pills just don't seem to be doing the job.....

So on a totally different note (and just to continue my rambling) my daughter just walked through the house wearing a pair of pants. You are thinking, "Well what is abnormal about that?" She has both legs through one pant leg and the extra pant leg tucked up in the waist of the pants! So it looks like a skirt! She is so weird!

Okay, I better go see if I can help the DH with siding (so that he can't accuse me of NOT doing any of the work) and then do something about this pain in the neck. And I am talking about the actual pain in my neck...not Chad or Shelby!!

Random stuff about me

Okay, so I saw this on a friends blog and you are suppose to "tag" other bloggers with it...but I don't really have too many friends with blogs so...If you read this and want to email it, post it on your myspace blog or on your blog if you have one go ahead!

Here are the rules:
*Post the rules before you give the facts.
*Post eight random facts about yourself.
*At the end of your blog post, you need to tag 3 people and list their names
*Leave the people you tagged a comment on their blog, letting them know that they've been tagged.

1) I have a birth mark on my toushee
2) I am afraid of stop signs
3) My mom and I both used to have moles underneath the same arm. Okay, not the same arm as in like just one of our arms but like we each had a mole under our left arm. Does that make sense?
4) I was my brothers birthday present. I came home from the hospital on his 3rd birthday. Talk about wanting to return a gift!!
5) I have scoliosis
6) I once colored my hair egg yolk yellow (note to all: do not mix Touch of Sun with a hair dye called Pizzazz. Hmm, I don't even think that is on the market anymore!)
7) I create scrapbook pages in my sleep!!
8) I had a really, really, really, really, really hard time coming up with 8 random facts about me. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring!!

Okay, so TAG! You are it!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Day Off: Scrapbooking for Me!!

So, I did not do any work on our project today - or yesterday for that matter. Yesterday I took Shelby to her friends b-day party at Chuck E Cheese (she says it was the BEST PARTY EVER!!) and then we came home and she played with the neighbor girl. Then we just vegged!

Today I had my scrapbooking ladies over for our club. I worked on a few little projects for them. After they left I had to make one for myself as well. So today you are going to see pic's of the projects I worked on!!

This first item is a post it, coaster and a binder clip. A neat little note pad!

This item is a luggage tag so that we don't get our scrapbook totes mixed up! On the one side is the definition for a scrapbooker (quite funny!) and the other side had each person's name on it. Nothing spectacular but I used my new laminator!!

Pederslie's Money Pit: Day Five

I tell you, day after day we find some way that the builders cut costs when building our house. Chad's dad removed siding on the front of the garage today and they only put sheeting up to the top of the garage door. So underneath the siding above that is, well....our attic space.

Anyway, today we started to put up the rocks. What fun! Though my hands are SO dry right now. Did you know that cement just sucks the moisture out of your body? I would not have thought about this but I was watching Grey's Anatomy last night and this boy had gotten encased in cement and it was mentioned how the cement does this.

So here are pic's from today. Tomorrow is a no production day since Chad has to work at Napa and Shelby has a birthday party to go to. So maybe I can get some scrapbooking in!! Yay!!

Pederslie's Money Pit: Day Three & Four

Okay, I don't really have any pictures to show off today but I probably will tomorrow.

Here is what we have done the last two days. Yesterday I worked on pulling more siding off. Chad & his dad worked on putting up the border that will be between the rocks and the siding. They also worked on putting up the tar (??) paper. Actually I have no idea what kind of paper it is. It's black and it's now on the side of my house. Today they put a metal overlay over it and then covered that with mortar. Tomorrow we will be putting up the rocks. So we will be half way there. The siding may take a little longer. I can't wait until it is all done! It just would have been nice if the weather had been better. I thought it was suppose to sunshine today!!!

And just so you don't all think that I am only taking pictures and blogging this whole experience, here are some pic's of me hard at work.

The Pederslie's Money Pit: Day Two

So today was Day Two of our home remodeling - if that is what you wanna call it. Today my job was to paint the front hallway. We have yet again bought a can of Oops! paint from Home Depot. This is really the only way to go! Besides the one wall in our family room and the kitchen we have repainted every room in our house with Oops! paint.

We went with a blue color since the color of the furniture in our living room is blue and this room opens up off of the main hallway. It looks so much cleaner now!!

Chad and his dad were back outside again today. And it was POURING down rain!! We removed the gutters yesterday to get the siding off so as you can see from the pic, Chad was having to rig those up so that the water wasn't just pouring down on the exposed wall or them!

Chad and his dad were trying to electrocute themselves today by playing around with the electrical AND by doing it in the pouring down rain! But Chad wants to put an electrical outlet on the bay window as the fountain will eventually go in front of this window and will need a power supply.

And...Chad suited up to venture underneath the house to work on the electrical. I did not know until today that Chaddie is afraid of a l'il ol' mousie or rat!! I told him that I am sure the little critters were going to be more scared of the big man in the orange suit then he of them!!

Welcome to the Pederslie Money Pit....

So, silly people that we are, we have decided to do some home improvements. Our plan is to replace the siding on the front of the house with rockery. This will be on the bottom portion and then we will replace the rest of the siding on the front as well. We have taken a week off of work to do so.

So we started today. Chad let me pull siding off. What fun!!! I felt so powerful and it's a good job to help release any tension or aggravation. Well as we started to remove siding and such we realized what a hap-hazard job the builders did on this house!! The front porch which is cement must have been put in AFTER the house was sided and they just slapped the cement right up to the siding! So guess what....the siding is stuck behind the cement! Siding doesn't meet up at the corners and we actually found a golf scorecard stuck between a piece of siding and the trim!! What the.....????!!!!! Chad turns to me today and says "Did you ever see that movie with Tom Hanks and the house??" The Money Pit!!

But I don't think it's really that bad. I mean if we had bought another house I am sure we would be complaining about some other problem.

Anyway, here is a before and in progress picture. I will post more as we progress with the project. Eventually we will have a fountain in the front and will have re-landscaped the front flower bed.

Happy Mother's Day!!

To all the wonderful Moms out there!!

THE PRETTIEST MOM

Before I was a Mom:
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom:
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom:
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom:
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom:
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom:
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

I am very lucky to be a mom to my pretty l'il girl!!
