Shelby has been accepted!!

We are so thrilled!! Shelby received her acceptance letter this weekend for the All Day Kindergarten program at Stillwater Elementary!! Woohoo!! Now supposedly they had to do a lottery. I don't know if they really did or if they had enough spots for all the kids that signed up. But I don't care! Shelby is in All Day Kindergarten!! Woohoo!!!

Speaking of my beautiful daughter, she made dinner tonight. The other day she mentioned she wanted to make vegetable soup. Now I do not know where all she has eaten vegetable soup before but she said that there should be broccoli, carrots, beans and peas in it. So I guess when Chad & Shelby went grocery shopping yesterday she mentioned it again and they got all the ingredients that were needed.

On the way home I informed Chad that I was not all that hungry. He laughed at me until I told him the last concoction Shelby made. Macaroni & Cheese with corn. I tried it, it wasn't good. So you can understand my hesitation. Then while Shelby & daddy were cooking dinner I heard Chad ask if she had made this at preschool. She said "No I just read it...in my mind!" And I have to say, the soup was quite good!! I told her she gets her cooking skills from daddy and she says "No I got them from God!"

What is it with 80's movies???

So I had to laugh as I flip through the channels this AM and find that "Can't Buy me Love" is on. What is funny about this? Well my friend & I were just talking last night about Patrick Dempsey and his 80's movies, especially this one!!

I know this movie is lame, I am reminded of how lame it is as I watch it yet I keep sitting here, glued to the TV! It is so typical of any 80's movies! Like the part where he starts doing the dance and suddenly everyone is like "Yeah, what a cool dance" and are doing it too??!! What am I saying?? It's not just 80's movies...they still do that in movies. Though I have never witnessed this happening in real life!!

Wait, there was that one time that I was at school and that guy started dancing and suddenly we all joined in and knew the same dance steps. No wait....that was that other 80's movie.....

It is amazing to see what Patrick Dempsey has done since then. I am sure we won't be seeing him doing the African Ant eater ritual anytime soon on Grey's Anatomy.

can\'t buy me love

You know what troubles me about these movies? The people are total geeks and then with a can of mousse and a ripping off of the sleeves of their shirt and VOILA...they are gorgeous and popular...Uh huh, because that always happens in real life......

Okay, nuff said. It's the climatic ending where he defends his best friend and gets the girl!!

I am in SO much pain!!

I am in pain, depressed and just a real grump ass right now!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My back has been killing me for weeks now and I have no idea why. It's not like I pinched a nerve or did anything to cause the pain. Last night I could not fall asleep because it just hurt. And it's not like a shooting pain, or hurt to the touch. It's just this dull ache. I constantly feel this urge to stretch and pop my back but there is no relief!!!!!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I am stressed/depressed because of my job. Maybe that is the reason for my back pain?? I don't know!!!!!!! I just don't know what to do.

Anyway, not an exciting post. Tomorrow morning I take Shelby to the dentist to get fillings. She actually seems excited about it. She kept yelling tonight "I am getting a silver tooth tomorrow!" Won't she be disappointed when she gets one of the tooth colored ones! :)

Okay, off to lay down...that is...if I can get comfortable!

Can Wii Play??

So Chad & I bought a Wii (pronounced wee) this weekend. For those of you that are technology impaired, this is the new Nintendo game system. Well I saw a High School Musical Sing it game the other day. And I happened to mention what fun that would be to play. So then Chad was like "Huh, a game she would enjoy. We have to get a Wii!" Well guess what....they are not easy to find! We went to Fred Meyer, Toys R US, Best Buy, Circuit City and finally Target. I know why I enjoy Target so much...they had 3 of them!!! So now Wii can play the wii all the time!! :) Shelby and I were fighting over who got to sing it tonight! Luckily she does not know how to take video with my camera so the footage you will see will be my cute daughter singing along!! Though I think I look pretty cute dancing and singing along too!!

Things to Remember....

A friend sent this to me in an email today and it just reminds me that we need to stop and just enjoy life, and not worry about the little things.

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck
(Written after she found out she was dying from cancer)

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn! With my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, 'Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.'

There would have been more 'I love you's; more 'I'm sorry's.'

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it. Live it and never give it back. STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!

Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.

Instead; let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.

Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with, and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally.

APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had you going there for a minute didn't I? I know, I know I am a day late but I just didn't get around to posting this yesterday! We did however pull this on my brother and mom and they both fell for it!! HA! HA!! HA!!!

So actually we do have some exciting news...We took our kitty for a follow up visit tonight. She got her sutures removed and we can take her cone off in about 3 days. The lump on her tail was cancer but luckily by removing it we have hopefully prevented it from developing it in any other part of her body. We will just have to check her body periodically for lumps or take her back in if she seems to not be eating or vomiting. So PHEW!! No more vet!!

So my friend send me an email today with this great quiz. As you all may know I am a big fan of anything 80's. For any of you 80 Kids out there here is a fun quiz for you to take.

I scored a 77. Some of them I sing in my head but just not fill in the blanks!!

Take the quiz! It's fun!!
