Remember Me?

Sorry that it has been so long since I posted anything! Not really much to blog about and I don't just want to blog about odds and ends and bore you to tears!

So, let's see...Not much going on with us. Just the same ol', same ol'. We finally broke down (okay, Chad finally broke down as I really didn't have a care in the world what we did) and paid someone to come and clear our backyard. Chad wants to build a shop but needed trees pushed over and all the rubbish and debris moved/cleared. I am just AMAZED at how much backyard we have! Up until this past weekend we had a decent backyard but most of it was woods/trees.

Shelby was so cute. She told Chad that she was going to go and thank the guys that were doing the work. He asked why and she said "Because they helped my daddy" I think she is also excited because now that the trees are down Chad can put up the play set we got her a few months ago. It has been sitting in pieces because we wanted to put it in a different spot then where her play set is now and he did not want trees to fall on it when we got around to falling the trees.

So these pic's aren't really exciting, and without the before pic's (and I doubt I took any random photos of my backyard before) you may not realize what a change it is.

Okay, I did just search the computer and we think we found a before pic! I do not think the deer are too thrilled though with our new bare yard!

I kissed a girl and I liked it...

You are never to old to experiment right??!! Just kidding! Some of you more mature folks (i.e. crotchety old people) will not be familiar with the song "I kissed a girl" by Katy Perry. It is actually quite a catchy little tune, hence the reason I downloaded it on my my iPod.

Well today Shelby & I were running errands and that song comes on. From the backseat I hear this cute little voice going "I kissed a girl and I liked it" I had to chuckle because oh it was just so cute but then this part of me went "Oh, I hope she doesn't sing that song in class!" and I start to think that maybe I am a bad parent and should not let my kid listen to these type of songs!

I guess I won't worry about it until her teacher sends a note home about the inappropriate song Shelby was singing in class!!

I have an entrepreneur on my hands

So I thought you might all enjoy these pic's and story about my little business woman. The other day Shelby brought down some of our nail polishes and set up a little nail salon - conveniently called "Shelby's Nail Salon". She created signs for several areas - the front door, the front bay window, the small window by the door, going up the stairs, in the hallway, and I am sure I am forgetting some other spots.

Then I came downstairs today and saw that she had also added a laptop and a phone. She is all set to start her business!
